The Sinking of the
Titanic - A typical case of Bad Muhurta |
Horāratna states that “Any Tithi, Rāśi or Ańśa or
Nakṣatra having Vedha by a Krūra Graha should be
scrupulously avoided in all auspicious undertakings. A
marriage celebrated during a Vedha will not prove
prosperous; any journey undertaken will not prove
prosperous; any treatment given to a patient will not
end in the cure, and any business started will not be
successful. If a Vedha caused by a Krūra Graha should
occur during the time of sickness, it will culminate
in death, if the motion is retrograde. If the motion
is direct, the sickness will soon subside. If there be
Vedha caused by a Krūra Graha in one’s own Janma Vāra
(Weekday at birth), the person will not have peace of
mind and he will suffer from mental pain.”
This
is a very important and useful principle for choice of
Muhūrta. Not only the period when the Janma Tithi,
Janma Rāśi, Janma Nakṣatra, or Nāma Varṇa (consonant)
or Svara when having Vedha from a Krūra Graha should
be avoided for any auspicious activity, as there is
danger lurking around the corner, the same principle
is used in Muhūrta. Each Muhūrta is defined by a
combination of Muhūrta Rāśi, Tithi and Nakṣatra. In
the Muhūrta Kuṇḍalī, the mentioned elements of time
(Rāśi, Tithi and Nakṣatra), if having Vedha from a
Krūra Graha should be avoided for any auspicious
function such as marriage, journey, treatment etc.,
else they will end with failures.
If one falls
sick during a time when the Rāśi, Tithi, Nakṣatra or
Vāra has vedha from Krūra Grahas, the recovery of the
person is doubtful. Particularly when the Vāra
(weekday) is under Krūra Vedha, there is mental
anxiety, stress, and pain. The weekday is also
associated with vitality, enthusiasm and overall zest
towards life.
