Some notes
about this report: |
|
The following report is basically in the form of a
check-list, filled-in with the very precise short
answers, mostly in percentage ternms. The check-list itself was developed with
the course of time during
author's
20 year's astrological practice
(since year 1987). Author used to cross-check
several astrological factors to arrive at a
conclusion on a particular life-aspect of the
person concerned, instead of basing his decision
on just one or two commonly considered factors.
Most of the considered factors have been properly
standardized and their results may be seen in
precise percentage terms. This approach of
checking each individual life-aspect through
several intricate Jyotish principles gives the
advantage of seeing the strengths (and weaknesses)
much more precisely than if it would have been
seen through just one or two principles. Here, you
may find weakness shown by one check being
compensated by the strength shown in the other
check. Or, vice-versa, you may also find weakness
shown by one check being confirmed by the other
checks.

How to draw the final
conclusion about a planet and a house? |
Whenever a
particular area of life (in this case, marital life of the
native) is to be analyzed, the most important factors which are to be
considered in his/her chart are :-
|
|
the relevant house
that signifies it. |
|
the house lord |
|
the planet that
signifies that area of life which is commonly
known as the 'Natural Significator'. Eg : venus for
marriage, Jupiter for children etc. |
|
the relevant house
from the natural significator (eg : for
one’s marriage and spouse, 7th house from Venus is also to be
seen). |
|
Then, the influences on all these factors are combined to reach
a conclusive result.
To determine the balance of how
good or bad a planet/house is, simply count how many enhancing
conditions are there, and how many depleting conditions are
there. Of course, in most cases there is no black and white
situation, and there is some balance of negative and
supporting factors, that bring out the qualities of a
planet/house in a variety of ways.
The qualities of a planet will be
expressed advantageously when the planet has more supporting
factors than the negative factors in D-01 (Rashi chart) as well as D-09
(Navamsha). If
there are only or mostly factors that make a planet
auspicious, it will give its most desired effects in the
chart. The areas signified by that planet will be enhanced in
a very positive manner in the person’s life.
Contrary to this, greater
the negative factors associated with a planet, lesser
auspicious it is. If a planet is only or mostly subject to the
factors which make him weak and less auspicious, it will give
its most challenging contribution and cause a lot of grief in
life related to the areas signified by it. For instance, if a
planet is weak on account of Ashtakavarga as well as due to
its placement in its sign of debilitation, is afflicted by way
of in conjunction and/or aspect by malefic planets and is also
sufficiently combust, it damages all the sectors of life
associated with him.
Similarly, when a
house is sufficiently strong in Sarvaashtaka of D-01 as well
as D-09 and has benefic influences, is not afflicted or the
afflictions are negligible, then the areas of life indicated
by that house will be enhanced. More the positive factors
associated with a house, more the areas of life associated
with that house will flourish.
On the other hand, when a house is weak in Sarvaashtaka of
D-01 and D-09 as well as afflicted and does not have any
benefic influences on it or benefic influences are negligible,
then the areas of life indicated by that house will be harmed.
More the negative factors, more the area of life associated
with that house will suffer.

Natal promises about "Quality of conjugal life": |
|
|
Role of
the 7th
house, 7th lord, Venus's relation with 7th house and
Navamsha: |
|
The Seventh is well known as the house of the
partner- the wife in a man's chart, the
husband in that of the woman. It is the main house
for judging marriage and male/female relationship.
As the house opposite the 1st house i.e. the Self,
the Seventh house represents one's opposite or
complement i.e. the other. 7th house displays the
blueprint for marriage, the character of the first
spouse, and the quality of sexual communication in
this life. 7th especially signifies the first
marriage, but its blueprint continues to affect
subsequent marriages. Thus, 7th house has a
pivotal role to play in determining one’s overall
marital life.
Role of 7th lord (L07):
Planet who is the lord of
the seventh house in one's chart is referred to as the
7th lord. It is different for different people based on
their ascendants. The lord of a house is as important as
the house itself and hence the analysis pertaining to a
house is incomplete if its lord is not taken into
consideration. 7th lord indicates one's spouse. Thus,
7th lord’s Strength as well as influences on him is very
crucial in reaching any conclusive result about one's
fortune with one's spouse.
In the present
horoscope, condition of the 7th house in
natal-chart (D-01 or Rasi chart) has
been checked on various parameters and the

What does 'Affliction' and 'Benefic Influences' on a
house refer to
|
A house is said to be afflicted
when one or more malefics are posited in it and/or aspecting
it. When a house is sufficiently afflicted and does not have
any benefic influences on it or benefic influences are
negligible, then the areas of life indicated by that house
will be harmed.
Similarly, if one or more benefics are posited in it and/or
aspecting it, it is said to
have benefic influences.
More the benefic influence on a house, more the areas of life
associated with that house will flourish.
Generally, a
house is subject to both i.e. afflictions as well as
benefic influences. Then the net value decides whether the
house is ultimately afflicted or under benefic
influences and to what extent. If afflictions on a
house are greater than the benefic influences, net
value is negative. Greater is this negative value, more is the
affliction. However, if benefic influences on a
house are greater than the
afflictions, net value comes out
to be positive. Greater is this
positive value, more is the
benefic influence.
To understand the meaning
of 'affliction' and
'benefic influences' on a
planet/ house, a brief
idea of benefic and
malefic planets is
required: |
The Good &
Evil planets:
The planets are classified
as evil (or malefics) and good (or benefics)) based on their
inherent nature.
The Sun, Saturn, Mars, waning Moon, Rahu & Ketu are evil
planets or malefics. Mercury, however, is a malefic if he
joins a malefic. Malefic planets by their very nature damage or
cause delays and separation from the areas they affect. They
spoil the effects of houses they ‘occupy’ or ‘aspect’. They
also cast their maleficience or evil effect on the planets
with whom they are conjunct or aspect.
Venus, Jupiter and waxing Moon are
good planets or benefics. Mercury when conjoined more
good planets or when placed alone in a sign is considered a
good planet. Benefics by
their very nature enhance those areas they affect and hence
termed benefics. They do
well to the houses they ‘occupy’ or ‘aspect’. They also cast
their beneficience or benefic influence on the planets with
whom they are conjunct or aspect.

|
|
Remarks (if any) |
On most of the
check parameters for D01 (Lagna
chart), the result is slightly
below average. But it does not ring
any alarm-bells, unless it is also
very low in D09 (Navamsa chart)
and other checks, carried out below.
18% affliction
to 7th house is very moderate. Nothing
very serious.
What does 'Affliction' and 'Benefic
Influences' on a planet refer to? |
A planet is said to be afflicted
when it is associated with a malefic and/or is aspected by
them. When a planet is sufficiently afflicted, it will act
less auspiciously and its qualities will be expressed with
struggle and grief. If such an afflicted planet does not have
any benefic influence by way of association or aspect by a
benefic like Jupiter, Venus, well associated mercury or waxing
Moon, its affliction increases even more as there is no positive
influence
to counteract the negative influences.
On the contrary, When a planet is associated with a benefic
and/or is aspected by them, it is said to have benefic
influences which cause the planet to become more auspicious.

Importance of Navamsha (D-09)
: |
'Navamsa' or "D-09" literally means
nine divisions. It refers to the
divisional chart produced
by dividing every sign in the main
chart by nine. It follows a specific
mathematical formula. The navamsha
chart is the second most important
divisional chart (after D-01) when
examining a person's horoscope using
Vedic Jyotisha. It is essential to
consider the D-09 or navamsha chart in
all cases, especially, while seeing
one's marriage or spouse. The navamsha
is a more subtle chart than the birth
chart or D-01. As far as the question
of marriage and relationships is
considered, the navamsha chart is like
the seventh house magnified. No
analysis of a horoscope in respect of
marital relationships is complete
without a simultaneous analysis of the
navamsha chart. If the prime
significator(s), 7th House, 7th lord
and Venus (Jupiter in woman's chart),
are weak and afflicted in both
D-01 chart as well as D-09 chart, the
native is invariably denied the
marital bliss in his life.
In
the present horoscope, condition of
the 7th house in Navamsa (D-09)
has been checked on various parameters

What 7th house from Venus shows? |
The zodiac consists of 12 signs.
Each sign is said to form a
house. When we talk about
houses, we always have a point
of reference. The sign
containing the point of
reference is the 1st house. The
next sign is the 2nd house. The
sign after that is the 3rd
house. Suppose Venus is in
Aquarius and suppose we want
houses with respect to Venus.
Then Aquarius is the 1st house,
Pisces is the 2nd house, Aries
is the 3rd house, Taurus is the
4th house and so on. As we go
around the zodiac, we reach
Capricorn when we find the 12th
house.
Thus, we can find houses with respect to different
references. Different houses stand for different
matters. The matters signified by a house also depend on
the reference used. Each reference throws light on
matters of a specific nature and that colors the meaning
of a house. 1st house is the default reference when finding
houses.
Here our point of reference is Venus, the significator
of marriage. Thus, while analyzing about somebody’s
marriage or spouse, 7th house from Venus, in D-01 as
well as D-09, is an important
factor to be considered and cannot be ignored. |
|
|
Remarks (if any) |
On most of the
check parameters for D09 (Navamsa),
result is fairly good. Only Venus is
somewhat lacking. But still, we may
rate the net result as "Fair" if not
"Good".
|
|
|
|
|
Role of
the Venus : |
|
Amongst nine planets, Venus
is the natural significator or ‘Naisargik Karaka’ for
marriage as well as for the seventh house in our chart.
This can be understood as follows - as all nine planets
are naturally given authority over some or the other
aspects of our life which is universal, Venus is the
natural representative of one's marriage and spouse.
Venus is also the significator of women in general, thus
in a man’s chart it becomes all the more important as it
signifies his wife. Venus is also responsible for much
of our sexual and romantic experience in this life. Thus
condition of Venus in the horoscope is important in
deciding whether the native is blessed with or deprived
of conjugal felicity and also how fortunate he/she is
with respect to his or her spouse.
If
Venus is strong and healthy, without malefic influences
over it, a healthy and harmonious marital life is
promised. The native is endowed with marital happiness.
When
Venus is weak, ill-placed or ill associated, problems in
marital harmony arise. Severe afflictions to venus can
result in multiple sexual misadventures, sexual
perversions and marital discord.
In the present
horoscope, condition of the Venus has
been checked on various parameters and

What
does Combustion of a planet mean? |
The state of
combustion is one of the various sources of planetary
weakness. Whenever a planet comes very near to the Sun, it is
divested of its brightness (luster). The said state is called
combustion. While in the state of combustion, the planets lack
power to protect and promote the significations/houses ruled
by them. If such a planet is weak on other accounts too, the
significations ruled by them do not even take birth. The
planets are said to be combust when they are within some
specified degrees (which is fixed for every planet) on either
side of the Sun in the chart. Nearer the Sun, combustion will
increase in percentage terms. Higher the combustion percentage
of the planet, weaker is the planet.
|
What does
Exaltation of a planet mean? |
Exaltation /Debilitation is a
measure for ascertaining the strength of planets. Each planet has a particular
exaltation sign. When a planet is in its exaltation sign, it
is said to be exalted. An exalted planet is extremely strong
in its nature and also refined to a much more perfected, pure,
and productive state. A planet here gives good results by
promoting/protecting their general and particular
significations. For every planet, within its exaltation sign,
there is degree where it can bring out its most superior and
auspicious qualities. This degree is called the point of deep
exaltation. At this particular point, the planet is at its
absolute finest.
A planet is considered debilitated
in the sign opposite, or 7th from, its exaltation. A planet in
debilitation is considered very weak in its nature and
exhibits none of its natural beneficial or useful
characteristics. It is in deep debilitation when in the degree
opposite its deep exaltation degree. This is the worst
position in the entire zodiac for a given planet. At this
point, a planet loses all its strength and thus fails to
protect/promote the areas of life associated with the planet.
So, this is a negative factor as the debilitated planet
denies, delays and/or deteriorates the opportunities and
significations in life of an individual.
The exaltation of a planet here is
expressed in percentage terms. Closer a planet is to its point
of exact exaltation, greater is its exaltation percentage and
hence more auspicious it is. The further away a planet is from
its point of exact exaltation, the less auspicious it becomes. |
|
|
|
A weak and afflicted 7th house,
Venus, 7th lord and 7th house from
Venus, in D01 and D09, both, may result in: |
|
Marriage which is miserable, loveless,
unhelpful, and full of grief. |
A note
about role of Jupiter: |
As in a man's chart, venus signifies his wife, likewise, in a woman’s chart, Jupiter is the significator
of her husband. Thus, for a woman Jupiter holds a
special significance and has an additional role to play.
|
|
|

|
Longevity, health and overall personality: |
|
Importance of 1st house : |
The 1st
house, also known as the ascendant, is where the story
of life begins. The Ascendant is our significator in the
chart, our vehicle in manifestation. It is the most
important factor in the chart, and its strength or
weakness can override anything else. It, in essence,
holds the sum total of all the energies of the planets
in the chart – it is the context from which all the
planets are evaluated.
The 1st
house, which is the central pivot of a chart, shows ‘the
self’. The most basic and most predominant
signification of 1st house is the physical body and its
appearance on the physical plane. It indicates our
congenial physical vitality, so that when weak, is a
primary factor in ill-health. Strong, positive planets
in 1st house indicate sound physique and physical
vitality. Hence, this is the main house which determines
one’s health and well being.
The first
house also indicates how we project ourselves on a
public level - our initial and general appearance to the
world at large. As such, it determines the whole
structure of our outer manifestation; our personality as
well as our body. For any significant accomplishment in
life, a strong First House and its lord are necessary.
It aids us in our career, as it helps establish
self-identity and, therefore, is important for honor,
integrity, fame, or recognition.
|
|
Importance of 1st house lord
(L01) : |
As said
earlier, that the lord of a house is as important as the
house itself while analyzing something. Thus, condition
and status of lord of
1st house in D-01 as well as D-09 plays a decisive role in order to have a
concrete idea
about the state of health, longevity and overall
personality of the native.
An
important thing which has to be realized is that all
yogas (i.e. various planetary combinations in the chart)
get modified by the weakness or strength of the first
house and its lord, both qualitatively as well as
quantitatively.

|
A
strong 1st house and its lord and benefic influences on
them ensures: |
Sound physical health, a good personality, a
comfortable embodiment, clear and healthy
inclinations, pragmatic intelligence and the
ability to make the most out of their lives.
If the 1st house is strong and under
multiple benefic influences, ordinary
adverse dashas do not appear to cause much harm
to the native.
|
Due to the challenged and afflicted 1st
house and its lord, the chart gets weakened
foundationally and may result in -
|
|
Poor and unsound health. The native
may always be ailing and lacking in
strength. |
|
Poor resistance to fight diseases.
As a result even ordinarily adverse dashas and transits disturb the health of the
individual when the 1st house and its lord are weak as
the native becomes vulnerable to ill health. |
|
Can make the native insignificant,
short-lived, suffer humiliation, face
insult and depression, associate with
the wicked or physically deformed. |
|
Personality traits such as
self-centeredness, arrogance or
exaggerated humility, inefficiency,
antisocial tendencies, unlikable
behavior, low self esteem and an
inability to actualize the promises of
the chart. |
In short, it
makes the native vulnerable to
addictions, serious health problems,
unappealing personality and loss of
status. |

Natal
promises about progeny: |
|
|
|
Role of
5th house: |
|
Out of the
12 houses in Vedic Astrology, 5th house is the ‘Putra Bhava’ i.e. the house of children and thus a very
crucial house for a person. It represents our capacity
to have children, shows the kind of relationship we will
have with them as well as overall health and fortune of
our children. Considering this, the strength of the 5th
house and the influences on it in our birth chart are
the major factors in deciding how fortunate we are with
respect to our children. |
|
|
|
Role of the Jupiter:
|
|
Amongst planets, Jupiter is
the natural significator of children. Hence
condition of Jupiter is also imperative in
drawing any conclusion about one’s children. |

|
Role of 5th lord (L05):

|
Planet who is the lord of
the fifth house in one's chart is referred to as the

Support
of planets and expected turbulence in life: |
|
"Ashtakvarga" is all about
"contribution" by various planets to the planet being
checked, in the natal-chart. As many planets contribute
to the concerned planet, as much "auspicious" it
becomes. The maximum number of "contributed points" may
be EIGHT. Thus, four is the average. Further, the
strength of the concerned planet is enhanced if it is
posited in a sign which is stronger in "Sarvaashtak",
having more than 28 points. The third, and very
important aspect of this check is that how many planets
in a natal chart are posited in a sign, in which, the "kaskshya
lord" itself is a contributor. Suppose, two planet are
having 5 points each, but one of them (planet-A) is
posited at in the contributor's kakshya and another
(planet-B) is posited in a non-contributor's kakshya,
than, though both of them seem to be similar in
auspiciousness but in fact, planet-A would be much more
beneficial to the native in comparison to the planet-B.
Following table, though, looks very small but contains a
lot of information. Below each planet, there are written
two values with an "e" or "i" in between. For example,
"4e27"; "5i23"; "4e26" etc. The first figure shows
number of "benefic points" obtained by the concerned
planet (eg:, 4, 5, 7 etc.). The last two digits (like
27, 29, 37 etc.) shows the Ashtakvarga strength of the
sign in which concerned planet is posited. If the middle
(2nd ) character is "e", it denotes that concerned
planet is posited in a contributor's kakshya. If the
middle (2nd ) character is "i", it denotes that
concerned planet is posited in a non-contributor's
kakshya.
The following table is also showing the total number of
planets in a horoscope which are in "contributor's
kakshyas". As many planets are posited in "contributor's
kakshya" (denoted below as number of "e") in a natal
chart, as much support
it gets from concerned planets. The positive
significations of those planets get fructified. The
planetary periods of those planets are normally good for
the native. Vice-versa, if most of the planets are in
"non-contributor's kakshyas" (denoted below as "i"), the

Miscellaneous, but important, checks and notes: |

Mars is
posited in the 7th house, which is a
matter of concern from matrimonial
point of view. But fortunately, it is
in a friendly sign (Cancer) which
reduces its maleficience considerably.
Saturn has got "zero" points in the
8th house (Leo). It is certainly a
point of great concern because 8th
house is known as the house of
spouse's longevity. When Saturn
transits Leo (during later part of
2006 and complete 2007 and 2008), the
life of her spouse may be under
serious threat. She must undertake
remedial measures for Saturn very
seriously during this period. |
