                                          Suitability of various astral gems

     This report has been prepared after considering the several principles
     for determining the functional benefics and malefics (as told by sage
     Parashara) and the principles told in various streams of Vedic Jyotish to
     measure the exact benefic or malefic nature of the planets in your natal
     chart. The importance of various astrological parameters has been
     calibrated very carefully - as told in ancient Vedic Jyotish texts. At
     times, some special Jyotish principles may over-shadow the net result
     obtained through the normally used Parashari principles to determine the
     beneficence of a planet. In such cases, these special principles will
     prevail and may reduce (or enhance) beneficence of a planet considerably.

     Astral gems of Sun:
     Natural ruby, red spinel, red garnet, rubellite, rhodolite and other
     natural pink or red gems with crystal clear transparency.
     Suitability: Worst

     Astral gems of Moon:
     Natural pearl & moonstone.
     Suitability: Fair

     Astral gems of Mars:
     Natural coral, cornelian, chalcedony, jasper and other pink to red ocher
     coloured gems.
     Suitability: Excellent

     Astral gems of Mercury:
     Emerald, peridot, green tourmaline, diopside, green jade, tsavorite and
     other natural green gems of flawless quality.
     Suitability: Worst

     Astral gems of Jupiter:
     Natural yellow sapphires, imperial topaz, citrine, yellow tourmaline,
     heliodar.
     Suitability: Worst

     Astral gems of Venus:
     Diamonds, white quartz, zircons, goshenites, white topaz, white sapphires
     and other colorless gemstones with clear transparency.
     Suitability: Fair

     Astral gems of Saturn:
     Blue sapphire, aquamarine, blue spinel, tanzanite, indicolite, iolite,
     amethyst and other blue to violet gems with transparent clarity.
     Suitability: Poor

     Astral gems of Rahu:
     Hessonite, cognac colour tourmaline, spessertite, and other natural gems
     of golden-orange to brownish-orange hues.
     Suitability: Excellent

     Astral gems of Ketu:
     Cat's eye chrysoberyl, beryl, apatite, fibrolite and other yellow to
     greenish -brown gems which display a strong chatoyant 'cat's eye' light
     reflection on the surface.
     Suitability: Average

     On 'Vjyotish beneficence scale', Rahu is the best planet for you. It's
     astral gems will normally suit you. On the other end, Sun is the most
     damaging planet in your chart. It's astral gems should never be used.
