Problems with
installing Vjyotish-exl
I am
trying to install the Vjyotish program and I
am encountering the following problem:
During the program installation it
opens up Microsoft FoxPro screen and
DOS Windows. On DOS window it says 1
file copied, few times and then it
hangs.
(or atleast, it seems to me that it
has hanged). |
My operating
system is Windows XP (Home edition, Service
pack-2). I do not have Mixrosoft Foxpro
installed on my system. My question is:
- whether it is
necessary for me to install "FoxPro" on my
system to operate your program?
Kindly suggest the solution?

You do not need to have
Microsoft-FoxPro installed on
your PC at all. Though our
programs are written on FoxPro
platform, but it gets installed
with FoxPro support libraries by
itself. Thus, you simply need to
install our programs only (Vjyotish-exl
/ Stock Compass) through their
respective installer
applications (vjinstal.exe /
scinstal.exe).
You do not need to install
FoxPro separately, as such.
There is no
compatibility problem with any
edition of Windows (including
Windows-XP-Home). It works
perfectly on OS
windows-95, Windows-98,
Windows-ME, Windows-XP (Home and
Professional, both). |
Herein-below is a screen-shot,
taken during installation of
Vjyotish-exl.
Perhaps you were stuck at this
point !
The
possibility is that you are
viewing DOS Command window, with
a message "Press any key to
continue ...". But, as you
press any key (or click mouse)
in this Window, the message
keeps repeating in a loop and
DOS Command window does not
close.
[For solutions, please read
notes written beneath the
following image.]
In such a case, take
following steps:
|
|
If FoxPro installer
Window IS VISIBLE on
your screen (behind
the DOS Command
window): |
|
Activate
the FoxPro installer
Window by clicking
over it |
|
If FoxPro installer
Window is NOT
VISIBLE on your
screen: |
|
If the Foxpro
installer window is
not visible on your
computer screen,
behind the DOS
command window, it
might have got
minimized. It does
so some times.
In this case, click
on the [FoxPro]
icon in your
task-bar to get it
maximized again. |
|
|
Now, press the
push-button [Continue>]
in the Foxpro installer
window.
This push-button is
available in the
push-button's row with
other push-buttons (like [
Help];
[Free
Astro Utilities]
etc.]. |
|
The program should now get
installed showing you a
message about it. However,
if you still fail to
install this way, you may
