Installing
Vjyotish on Windows-XP systems
|
|
Vjyotish is fully compatible with all versions of Windows-95
onwards. It runs
perfectly in Windows-XP environment ("XP-Home"
as well as "XP professional"). However, some
times, it may report an error during installation due to
some minor technical reasons. But, this error is insignificant
and does not affect the Vjyotish performance in any way.
Just click "Ignore"
button whenever error is
reported during installation.
What may be the
error?
When you run "vjinstal.exe"
(the installation application for Vjyotish) after download, to
install Vjyotish, in Windows-XP environment,
some times it fails to make icons on your desktop and in
the program menu. This failure in copying the icon files
to appropriate folders causes the installation file to
gives error message.
Vjyotish icons (and shortcuts) may not appear on your
desktop and in the program menu in such cases. This is
the only known error reported under Windows-XP
environment.
|
What is the remedy
if an error message appears?
As said earlier,
this error is insignificant and does not affect the
Vjyotish performance in any way. Just
click "Ignore"
button whenever error is
reported during installation. That's
all.
After
installation is complete, you may have to make Vjyotish
short cuts manually on your desktop. You have to run
"Vjyotish.exe"
situated in your C:\Vjyotish\ folder. If a Vjyotish
short cut (Vjyotish icon) does not appear on your
desktop, make it manually.
|
How a short cut
on Desktop can be made?
Right click anywhere on the blank area of your desktop and choose
"New" -->
"Shortcut". A
Browse window will appear.
Choose "C:\vjyotish\vjyotish.exe"
and finish the short cut process. "Vjyotish"
icon will appear on your desktop.
