Dr. K S Charak has studied Vedic astrology for nearly four decades, mostly on his own. In 1990, he joined the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan primarily to qualify as Jyotish Visharad form the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences (ICAS). The ICAS later awarded him the title of Jyotish
Vachaspati.
He was once closely associated with most famous Indian astrologer of recent
times, K.N.
Rao, but this association has ended.
Presently he teaches astrology classes conducted by ICAS in Delhi. Over the past decade, he has travelled extensively in the west to teach Vedic astrology which remains his sacred passion.
Author of some of the best books on Vedic
astrology, his lucid style and scientific approach to the subject has earned him a stature in the world of astrology. He is the editor of the highly appreciated astrological journal, Vedic astrology, which he
started in 1997.
Dr Charak holds the degree of Master of Surgery from the University of Delhi
(India), and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons from the UK. Presently he is the Head of the department of surgery at the Indira Gandhi ESI Hospital, at Jhilmil in
Delhi (India), and leads a charitable organization devoted to providing free surgical and medical care to the poor and the ailing in the rural areas of the northern India.
