F.A.Q.-
Usage

My program
access code ("PCode"), supplied by you, is "VJOHN".
I succeeded in loading the customization
files on my work computer, but when I try to
do it at home, after reloading everything
several times, I keep being told that my
PCode (VJOHN) doesn't work. What do I?
|
|
First of all, we would like to tell you that
you need not to "re-load everything" just
because Vjyotish is not accepting your "pcode".
It simply means
that the program is unable to find some
"customization files" related to that
particular pcode.
There may be following two reasons of not
accepting your "Pcode" by the
program:
1. |
The first and
most probable reason is that you have
forgotten to run the
customization-application (sent by us
after receiving your order) in the
concerned computer. You are supposed to run
this application once to convert Vjyotish from a demo application to a
customized application.
[For example,
suppose, your 5-character long "Pcode"
is "VJOHN". The name of the
customization application would be "VJOHN.exe".]
This application is a self-extracting
zip archive (created with the help of
"WinZip Self-extractor"), which contains some data
files, pre-processed for your own
birth-data. When you run this
application, some files with different
extensions, but named similar to your pcode, would get extracted to your
"C:\Vjyotish\" folder. Thus, you need
to run this application only once
unless you are re-installing the
program. These files would customize
“Vjyotish” to your own natal-chart
when you type the above written
program access code in the opening
screen.
When you type your pcode in the
opening screen of the program, it
searches for some files, names of whom
are similar to your pcode, in the
folder "\Vjyotish\" .
In above
exemplar case, it would search for "VJOHN.dbf"
anf "VJOHN.rsh" files.
|
2. |
If you
have run the
customization-application, but still,
the program is not accepting your
"pcode" in the
opening screen,
then there may be again two
possibilities:
a. |
You might be typing your pcode
incorrect. Sometimes, a number "0"
(zero) might be read by
you as alphabet "O" or
vice-versa. Please try again by
typing your "pcode" correctly in
the
opening screen of the
program. |
b. |
On some systems, due to
unknown technical reasons,
Winzip self-extractor
fails to extract the
archived zipped files,
contained within the
application, to the
destined folder (which is
"C:\Vjyotish\"). |
In such a case, you would
be needed to extract the
zipped files contained
within the self-extracting
archive
(in
the above exemplar case,
it would be "VJOHN.exe")
manually to the
Vjyotish folder in your C:
drive.
Open the self-extracting
zip archive (in
the above exemplar case -
it would be
"VJOHN.exe")
through Winzip (or any
other similar zip
utility which you might
have). You will be able
to view all archived
zipped files contained
within that application.
Select all the files and
extract them to the Vjyotish
folder of your C: drive.
To be double sure, check the Vjyotish
folder for the
presence of following two
files:
i. |
vjohn.dbf |
If your "pcode" is "VJOHN". |
ii. |
vjohn.rsh |
.
(Suppose, your "pcode"
is "R0112". Then,
the files names
would be "R0112.dbf"
and "R0112.rsh".) |
Thereafter, type your "pcode"
in the opening screen of
the program again. It
should accept your pcode
now.
