These errors indicates that either the structure of
a database file (.dbf) has been damaged or a damaged structure within an index file has been detected.
The structures of a database or an index file sometimes
gets damaged when Vjyotish is not properly
exited due to
any reason (for example, sudden or forced
closure of the computer, your system hangs,
the program hangs, or
something happens similar to this
situation).
However, there is nothing to worry about
this problem. There are two ways to rectify
it. First of all exit Vjyotish program (if
running) and take one of the following
steps:
1. |
The
simplest solution is to delete the
C:\Vjyotish\
folder itself. Then, re-install
Vjyotish with the help of “vjinstal.exe”
(downloaded
from my site).
The
error will not be rectified if you
just re-install the program without
deleting the "Vjyotish"
folder. You must delete the folder
first. The program, after
re-installation, will initially run
as demo.
If you have customization
application (available
on order), please read the
following note carefully.
Note:
If you are having
customized Vjyotish
(and not just demo
version): |
If
you are having customized
Vjyotish,
take one precaution while
deleting C:\Vjyotish\ folder.
You might have saved your
customization application
(for example,
"L0924.exe"), sent
by us, in C:\Vjyotish folder
itself, after downloading
it. Therefore, before
deleting this folder, check
that this application does
not get deleted with the
folder. Move this
application to some other
folder or to the desktop
before deleting the C:\Vjyotish\
folder.
After re-installing Vjyotish,
don't forget
to re-install your customization
files also, by running customization
application (sent by us) once. (For
example, if your Vjyotish access
code is "L0924", the name
of your customization application
would be “L0924.exe”). |
|
2. |
Another
solution, in which you need not
delete C:\Vjyotish\ folder, is to
delete only index files. Vjyotish
creates all index files afresh if
found absent. Thus, when you run
Vjyotish next time, all index files
will be re-created automatically.
a. |
Delete
all files with the extension
“.idx” in your C:\Vjyotish\
folder. |
b. |
Also
delete following two files
from C:\Vjyotish\Reports\
folder. These files will
also be re-created by Vjyotish
on it's next run.
|
Dat(yourcode).dbf
(For
example,
"DatL0924.dbf") |
|
Dat(yourcode).idx
(For
example,
"DatL0924.idx") |
|
|
Now
run Vjyotish (C:\Vjyotish\Vjyotish.exe). You
must find your problem solved. However, if
for any reason, the problem remains
un-resolved, you may always
contact
us for solutions without any hesitation.
Please write us about the steps taken by you
till now.
